State-Of-The-Art Metrology

You cannot manufacture what you cannot measure. JML employs the latest technologies in its Metrology Department. Using an arsenal of 5 Zygo Interferometers, JML is able to ensure that you are getting the precision custom optics you expect.

Our interferometers provide us the ability to measure surface: radii, power, irregularity and transmitted wave front.

JML has the ability to measure center thickness, diameter and centration to sub-micron accuracy. Additionally we measure focal length, back focus, front focus, image quality, resolution, semi-field angle and f-number. Other routine testing includes field curvature measurements, bore sight accuracy and symmetry measurements. We also have the ability to measure spot size in microns.

Our Comparators and Autocollimators provide us the ability to measure length, width, parallelism and angles of flat optics.

Data collected from our interferometers is available to the customer electronically for further analysis and modeling.
