A corner cube is, geometrically speaking, cut from the corner of a cube of glass. It has three mutually orthogonal reflecting faces and one entrance/exit face. A ray of light entering the corner cube will experience three total internal reflections. After the third reflection, the ray exits in exactly the opposite direction of the original incoming ray.
