Irises, Pinholes and Slits

  • Irises - Tab and pin actuated models can be used as variable field stops, system f-number controllers and constant energy beam diameter reducers. We offer two types of irises; standard irises that close to some minimum diameter opening and fully closed irises which close completely.

  • Slits and Pinholes - These slits and pinholes come as precision air types or chrome-on-glass types. Slits serve a variety of uses in image scanning or dissection systems and x-ray and spectrographic applications. JML offers a selection of electroformed air slits which have sharp, smooth and burr free openings. Pinholes or round apertures are useful as spatial filters when placed at the focus of a laser light condensing system. We offer all pinholes and slits as either mounted or unmounted.
