A segmented lens has the same optical properties as a conventional spherical lens, however they use less space and can be more cost effective. JML has developed manufacturing techniques specific to making a segmented lens as a segment. Rather than make a conventional spherical lens that is then cut into a segment, JML Optical utilizes a unique approach that requires less optical glass, and as a result, provides the customer with a cost effective segmented lens.
